Cocaine Distribution Ring Busted in Morris County NJ

3 Men from Morris County have been Charged with Distributing Cocaine

According to the reports released thus far, three men from Morris County have been arrested and charged with among other things, distributing cocaine in the second degree. It appears that the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Special Enforcement Unit, Lincoln Park Police Department and the Pequannock Police Department have been investigating these three Defendant’s for last three months. There investigation included not only surveillance but undercover buys as well. When it was all said and done, the police seized over four (4) ounces of cocaine, a digital scales, a 2000 Toyota Camry and approximately $7,000 in cash.

The three defendants were charged with a variety of offenses, the most serious being distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in the second degree and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute in the second degree. Two of the Defendant’s bail was set at $150,000 with no ten percent option and the others at $100,000 with no ten percent option. If the Defendant’s are able to post bail, the Morris County Prosecutor’s office will be requesting a bail source hearing. A bail source hearing is conducted in an effort to make sure that the funds used to secure the bail do not stem from illegal activities. If convicted, the defendants face up to ten years in a New Jersey State Prison on each second degree charge. In addition, they may be fined up to $150,000 as well.
