Boonton Women Charged with Faking Robbery
A forty-two year old women from Flanders, New Jersey has been arrested and charged with one count of falsifying a police report and one count of filing a false report to incriminate others. Apparently the Defendant notified the police that she was the victim of a robbery wherein which she alleged that the “robbers” threw her to the ground and demanded she turn over her purse. Among the things located inside her purse was her prescription medication.
When the Boonton Police Department investigated the Defendant’s story they immediately became suspicious. However, it wasn’t until they discovered exculpatory evidence that they were convinced that the Defendant had made up the whole story in an attempt to obtain additional prescription medication. The Defendant was arrested and released on a summons. She will need to appear in the Boonton Township Municipal Court at a future date to answer the charges.
