Morris Township man charged with Burglary in Mount Olive
On December 2, 2015 officers from the Mount Olive police department arrived at a home after it was reported that a suspicious vehicle was located inside the driveway. However, when the officers arrived on scene, the vehicle as gone. A further investigation revealed that the home was burglarized. Items taken from the home included several watches and firearms. Fast forward about a month later, the detectives were able to track down the suspect’s vehicle to a location in Morris Township. A subsequent warrant for the vehicle was granted and a search was conducted. Inside the vehicle the officers located a machete, proceeds from the burglary (three watches), marijuana, heroin and cocaine.
As a result of their findings, the Defendant, a thirty-one year old male from Morris Township was arrested. He was formally charged with burglary, theft of moveable property, receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a weapon (5 counts), possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine and possession of heroin. The Defendant was taken to the Morris County Jail and bail was set at $95,000. It appears that the detectives from Jefferson, Morris Township and Mount Olive are trying to determine if the Defendant committed any other burglaries in the area.
