Alleged Stabbing at Roxbury Truck Stop
The Roxbury police department is investigating an alleged stabbing stemming from a dispute between two truckers early yesterday morning.The incident occurred at the Pilot Travel Center in Roxbury, which is located right off of Route 46. The victim, who is alleged to have been stabbed during the incident, was taken to the hospital for treatment. As of 6pm last night no charges had been filed yet but according to bystanders, the police did have a person in handcuffs.
If arrested and charged, the suspect would most likely be charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. Since the weapon was a knife and the injuries alleged don’t seem serious, the charges will most likely be third degree felonies as opposed to second degree. A third degree felony in New Jersey is punishable by up to five (5) years in a State prison and a fine up too $15,000.
