A motor vehicle stop in Washington Township in Morris County, New Jersey leads to man being charged with a slue of drug and weapons offenses. According to the information released at this point in time, the police initial pulled over the Defendant for a minor motor vehicle infraction. But when they approached the vehicle they quickly determined that the Defendant was attempting to ingest raw marijuana in an effort to conceal its presence. The Defendant was quickly removed from the vehicle and search incident to arrest was conducted. During that search a replica handgun was located in the Defendant’s sock. The replica handgun turned out to be Air Soft handgun, however, upon first glance nobody would be able to tell. Here is a photo the police posted which shows just how real the weapon looked. 
Based on their findings the Defendant was placed under arrest and a search of his vehicle was conducted. During that search the officers uncovered two ziplock bags of cocaine, two ziplock bags of marijuana and a scale. The Defendant was formally charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of cocaine, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and several motor vehicle violations including speeding, reckless driving, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle and failure to produce proper credentials. Bail was set at $10,000 and the Defendant was released later in the day.
