The Parsippany Special Enforcement Unit struck again late last month. Following a several month long investigation, the unit was able to bust a rather significant drug operation that was being operated out of Jefferson, New Jersey. According to the reports that have been released at this point in time, a search warrant was executed on a home on Benedict Drive in Jefferson on January 20th of this year. Uncovered during that search was 373 Xanax pills, 25 Oxycodone pills, 2 pounds of marijuana and more than $12,000 in cash. In addition to the drugs and the cash, the officers also uncovered several items that were taken from a home invasion in Parsippany the day prior.
After the execution of the warrant, two defendants were arrested and charged with various drug offenses. These offenses include possession of a prescription drug with the intent to distribute, possession of prescription drugs and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. In addition, they were also charged with receiving stolen property for the items that were linked to the home invasion in Parsippany. The possession of the Xanax with the intent to distribute is most serious charge levied against these defendants. Due tot he quantity of Xanax located the Defendants will be charged with possession of prescription drugs with the intent to distribute in the second degree.
