The Parsippany Police Department along with the Morris County Sheriffs Department is still investigating a home invasion that took place back on August 26, 2016. According to the information released at this point in time, the suspect(s) allegedly entered the residence on Rita Drive by removing an air conditioning unit from one of the windows. While inside the residence, the suspect(s) canvassed the home and were able to make off with multiple pieces of jewelry as well as some cash. The incident was first reported to the Parsippany Police Department around 2 pm on August 26 when a resident of the home cam home and found the air conditioner removed from the window.
The case is still under investigation at this point in time and no arrests have been made. If the suspect(s) are caught they will most likely be charged with one count of burglary in the third degree, one count of criminal mischief in the fourth degree and two counts of theft of moveable property in the third degree. The most serious charge would be the burglary. As mentioned above, burglary is a third degree felony, if convicted of this offense a Defendant would be facing between three to five years in a New Jersey State Prison, a fine up too $35,000 and a felony criminal record.
