DUI Charges for Wayne Man in Riverdale NJ
A Riverdale police officer, with the assistance of a New Jersey State Police trooper, was able to safely pull over a suspected driving while intoxicated driver earlier this week. The driver, a sixty-five year old male from Wayne, was arrested and charged with among other things, driving while intoxicated. According to the reports released thus far, the Riverdale Police Department received numerous calls about a silver Toyota that had been swerving all over Interstate 287. The Defendant allegedly drove almost three (3) miles before he finally pulled over for the Riverdale Police Officer. In fact, it required the assistance of a New Jersey State Trooper before the Defendant finally pulled over. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer’s claimed that they immediately smelled the odor of alcoholic beverages emanating from inside his vehicle. Based on their observations, the Defendant was asked to perform several standardized field sobriety tests. As a a result of his performance the Defendant was placed under arrest and charged with DWI. He was taken down to the Riverdale Police Station and was later released on a summons.
