Denville Man Faces Charges of Aggravated Manslaughter
Jared Clackner and William Henning, both Denville residents, were on their way back from a ZZ Top concert when their car struck a guardrail on Route 80 in Elmwood Park. Clackner is being held on $500,000 bail and being charged with aggravated manslaughter. State Police say they found evidence of a fight between Henning and Clackner. Police have not yet elaborated on the details of the case.
Kinnelon Teen Suspected of Murdering His Father
A Kinnelon, NJ teen is suspected of shooting and killing is father. A Morristown Superior Court Judge set bail for Travis J. Hofstetter at $750,000. Travis is a student at Morris County School of Technology in Denville. He is facing charges of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (an Enfield .303) and murder. Hoffstetter’s cousin, Jeff Hawkes from Morris Plains says he is shocked and angry at the horrific event. The suspect is being held in jail awaiting his bail reduction hearing.
Mount Olive Woman Prosecuted for Murder relying on DNA evidence
A Mt. Olive woman charged with killing a retired law enforcement officer has hopes that DNA evidence from her clothing will prove she is innocent. Virginia Vertetis, a teacher in Wharton, was arrested a year ago after her lover died from gunshot wounds after he arrived at Vertetis’ home. Vertetis has been in jail for over 5 months as she awaits her trial.
