DWI Charges Appear to be Pending for the Driver of a car that ran off the road in Parsippany NJ

DWI Lawyers in Morris County NJThe New Jersey State Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Route 80 in Parsippany, New Jersey earlier this morning. According to the witnesses on scene, the Defendant, a twenty-two year old male from North Arlington, was speeding in excess of 100 mph before he lost control of his car and crashed into the woods on Route 80. The Defendant has been arrested and is currently in the custody of the New Jersey State Police. The two passengers were taken to Morristown Medical Center and are currently being treated for severe but non-life-threatening injuries. 

It appears that the New Jersey State Police are looking into filing driving while intoxicated charges against the Defendant. In addition to the DWI charges, the Defendant may also be facing assault by auto and aggravated assault charges as well. If the Defendant is just charged with DWI and traffic violations then the matter will be handled in the Parsippany Troy-Hills Municipal Court. However, if the Defendant is charged with aggravated assault or assault by auto, the charges will be transferred to the Morris County Superior Court, which is in Morristown.
