Heroin Discovered During Pequannock Motor Vehicle Stop
A routine traffic stop by a Pequannock police officer leads to the passenger being arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of hypodermic needles and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver, a Sussex County resident, was allegedly pulled over after the Pequannock officer noticed that she was failing to keep right. Although it is unclear at this point what exactly happened next, what we do know is that the passenger was search and found to be in possession of ten (10) wax folds of heroin, syringes and several empty wax folds.
As a result of their findings, the Pequannock police charged the passenger with possession of heroin in the third degree, possession of hypodermic needles in the fourth degree and possession of drug paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense. If convicted on all charges, the Defendant could be sentenced up to seven (7) years in a New Jersey State Prison. The driver was not arrested and was released from the scene.
