Jefferson NJ Police Play Role in Case
Officer James Caruso of the Jefferson Police Department recognized as contributor in the arrest of Salman “Tito” Khalid, a Wharton resident, on March 3rd after authorities seized $1.4 million dollars worth of high-grade marijuana from his residence during a drug deal with a man from Indiana. This is the largest marijuana seizure in Morris County history. Over $130,000 dollars in cash was seized during the operation the the Indiana man is waiting to be extradited to Morris County for prosecution. Khalid is being charged with second degree possession of a CDS, second degree possession with the intent to distribute, and third degree money laundering.

Boonton man arrested for attempted murder in Whippany
Daniel Wendt has been charged with attempted murder, and possession of a weapon. The crime took place mid-afternoon on February 20th when an unidentified Morris County man took a bullet to the torso. Witnesses pointed the police toward a man driving a tan early-2000 model Honda Civic. The Hanover Police department are asking citizen to come forward with any information they might know about the situation.
