Marijuana Distribution & Handgun Charges in Morris County NJ
It seems like the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office busted yet another drug dealer. This time, a twenty-five year old male from Dover, New Jersey has been arrested and charged with among other things, distributing marijuana, unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a firearm while in the commission of a drug offense. According to the reports released thus far, the Defendant has been distributing large quantities of marijuana in and around Dover for the past several months. It appears that detectives from the Morris County Narcotics Task Force and from the Dover police department have been investigating this Defendant for past few months.
It is unclear where the arrest took place but when the officers attempted to execute the warrant, the Defendant fled. Unfortunately for him, he was captured after a brief foot chase. The Defendant was taken to the Morris Count Jail where he remains being held on a $250,000 bail. There is also a no 10% option on that bail as well. The Defendant has formally been charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute in the second degree, possession of a firearm while in the commission of a drug offense, in the second degree, resisting arrest in the third degree, hindering prosecution in the third degree and unlawful possession of a weapon in the second degree.
