Pequannock Police Arrest & Charge 20-Year-Old With Prescription Drug Possession
Acting upon a tip, the Pequannock police department decided to approach an individual pushing a stroller in Lyons Park yesterday. According to the report, the officer’s were tipped off that the individual was in fact selling Percocet while he was pushing his son around the park. When the officer’s approached the Defendant they noticed that he immediately dropped an object on the ground that was covered in a white powdery substance. Once they were able to get up close with the Defendant, they determined that his cellphone and a credit card was also covered in the same white powdery sentence. As a result the Defendant was placed under arrest, however, matters got worse. When the officer’s were placing him under arrest they noticed a bulge in his sock. Upon a further inspection, the officer’s found fourteen (14) Percocet’s.
The Defendant was arrested and charged with possession of prescription drugs and endangering the welfare of a child. The Defendant was not charged with either possession of prescription drugs with the intent to distribute or actually distribution since the officer’s never actually observed the Defendant distributing the drugs. His son was released to family member and he was brought to the Morris County Jail. Bail was set at $50,000.
