Synthetic Marijuana Possession Charges Issued in Parsippany NJ
According to the reports released thus far, the New Jersey State Police have arrested and charged a Pennsylvania man with possession of synthetic marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident in Parsippany on Wednesday. From the reports released thus far, it appears that the New Jersey State Police kinda stumbled across this rather large drug bust. Apparently, they noticed the Defendant, a twenty-six (26) year old Pennsylvania resident walking down Route 80. Since Route 80 is one of the busiest highways in the Country, when the police noticed the Defendant they took his conduct as being highly suspicious and decided to stop and check on him. The officer’s were most likely operating under the community care-taking theory when they decided to stop and check on the Defendant.
It is unclear at this point in time what transpired next but a search must have been conducted and it was determined that the Defendant was in possession of 370 grams of synthetic marijuana, several prescription drugs as well a drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and taken to the Morris County Jail where he remains being held on a $25,000 bail. Due to the quantity of synthetic marijuana found, the Defendant will most likely be charged with a second degree felony. If convicted, he could be facing up to ten (10) years in a State prison.
